Giving Day “Elves” Go Shopping

Pat Karon, Executive Director of Barrington Day, got lots of help from “Elves” with
holiday shopping for Seniors invited to Giving Day. Her helpers are: James and Ryan
Baumgartner and Franki and Carli Parenti, all from the Chippendale neighborhood. See
the “Elves” in action.

Barrington – An Incredible Giving Community

Harris Bank wants donation boxes in all their Barrington area locations…6 locations in all. They are also sending us a check for $500.00
Grove Avenue PTO President Selinda Coon called and advised me that the PTO voted to donate $2,000.00 to Giving Day. They donated $2,000.00 last year.
Lions Club sent a check for $2,000.00 to purchase paper products for the families.

This is indeed a wonderful day for Barrington Giving Day!

Teachers at Station Middle School are the Best!

I just received an e-mail from Kathleen Rankhorn, a Counselor at Station Middle School. She had great news to share: the teachers at Station have purchased 310 Cans of Coffee and Teens for Teens collected 50 cans of coffee!

If they had not collected money for coffee we would not have been able to provide to the families as the cost of coffee is very high.

The Station Middle School teachers have always supported Barrington Giving Day. THANK YOU ALL!

High School Volunteers are GREAT!

We have had the most amazing young people supporting Barrington Giving Day, and need to send a shout out to all those who helped collect donations of goods and cash over the past two weekends. They collected lots of goods and a total of $1,706.12.

Many thanks to the the Chicago Land Youth Football League, Barrington Youth Football, Barrington Rotary Charities and the BHS InterAct Club…Organized by Rick Wokoun, Vice President at Barrington Bank and Trust.

High School volunteers who deserve recognition for their outstanding support: Marquita Mayfield and Kalena Keclik (two shifts, each), and single-shifters Jack Kurcab, Jack Scheffler, Ricky Alfonso, Doug Beath, Greg Gerrard, Kyle Fitzpatrick, Connor MacCartney, Mike Hallman, Justin Gitelis, Sean Morton, Justin Dragosz, Chris Coco, Avery Lewis, Ryan Lidge and Dylan Lidge. BHS Dean of Students Jim Hawrysko recruited the volunteers.
